The Kony2012 thing is supposed to UNITE people. But instead, if someone is opposed to it, they are bashed and attacked by others, simply because they don’t share the same OPINION. That’s not fair. If you believe in it, then GREAT, DO something. But, if someone says they don’t believe in it, what gives you the right to call them “heartless”? It’s their opinion and it’s their choice to support or not support whatever they choose to. You have your choice to support it, don’t try to take away someone else’s just because it doesn’t coincide with your beliefs.
I’m honestly shocked (and a little embarrassed) that my school doesn’t have any stop Kony posters up. Yet, we have dozens of posters up about trivial things such as concerts, events, school rivals etc. Why? Is it that people just don’t know, or do they not care? Tonight was my first time hearing about Kony and I cannot imagine knowing about it and not wanting to tell everyone else. I have posted, reblogged, signed the pledge, and donated money. And, stopping there is simply not an option. My school might not have known about this man before, but best believe if I have anything to do with it, they will. And that small act, I’m hoping, will encourage people who visit our campus to do the same. It only takes one domino to hit down millions. *Do something*
